Dallas/Forth Worth Pride Movement is a non-profit organization that exists to create a sense of unity and social support within the Black LGBT community. No time is better than now to come together and address issues that are directly impacting the community. We are here to educate and organize around issues that address the social, economic and holistic well being of the Black LGBT community. We are a member of the Center for Black Equity (formerly known as The International Federation of Black Prides) and are the Official host of Dallas Black Pride October 3 – 7, 2013.

 

The mission of Dallas/Fort Worth Pride Movement is to promote social awareness, unity, self-empowerment, mentorship and positive visibility throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth LGBT and affirming community of color through education, health promotion, advocacy and coalition building.We provide year long activities in concert with our mission. These include but aren’t limited to a community business luncheon, happy hour/networking events, cultural events that merge our cultural and ethnic identity as Black LGBT people, as well as community forums and roundtable discussions around policy issues, and serve as community advocates for the Black LGBT community.Our year long activities build up to Dallas Black Pride, “The Movement.”  This event will host national and local LGBT organizations and institutions that will have booths with information and resources, entertainment that will host local talent, and activities that promote family and community amongst Black LGBT and affirming individuals in Dallas/Fort Worth. In our ongoing efforts of uniting ALL in our community, this year we welcome our charter women’s brand, Dallas Her Pride.Your support is crucial as we endeavor to make this a success.
